ESI Funds 2014 – 2020

By entering the full membership of the European Union, the Republic of Croatia became a beneficiary of funds from the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI Funds). In the financial period 2014-2020, the Republic of Croatia has a total of EUR 10.676 billion available from the ESI funds. Our country has never before had so many resources to invest in growth and development.

Of this amount, EUR 8,397 billion is earmarked for cohesion policy objectives, EUR 2,026 billion for agriculture and rural development and EUR 253 million for fisheries development.

The Operational Programs Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020 (adopted on 12th of December 2014) and Effective Human Resources 2014-2020 (adopted on 17th of December 2014), based on which the allocated funds can be used, were adopted among the first third of the European Union member states’ operational programs.

Role of HAMAG-BICRO

Pursuant to the Regulation on Bodies in the Management and Control Systems of Use of the European Social Fund, the European Fund for Regional Development and the Cohesion Fund, in connection with the goal “Investment for growth and jobs” (Official Gazette No. 107/14 and 23/15), the Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovation and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO) performs the function of Level 2 Intermediate Body (PT2) within the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Cohesion” in the financial period 2014-2020, for specific objectives 1b1, Priority Axis 1. Strengthening the Economy through the Application of Research and Innovation within the competence of the Ministry of Economy and for specific objectives 3a1, 3a2, 3d1 and 3d2 of Priority Axis 3. Enhancing the Competitiveness of SMEs within the competence of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts.
