The Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovation and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO) held the presidency of the European Network of Leading National Innovation Agencies (Taftie) in 2023.
The overarching theme of Taftie’s 2023 presidency was “Reconsidering the Role of Innovation Agencies and Mutual Learning.”
During its presidency, HAMAG-BICRO initiated discussions on key topics relevant to the European innovation ecosystem, including technology transfer and collaboration between business and academia, intellectual property protection, challenges faced by the startup/scaleup community, and issues related to Horizon Europe and the European Innovation Council. Additionally, in cooperation with the European Commission, HAMAG-BICRO organized a policy forum focusing on the European Structural and Investment Funds. Meetings and expert panels were held in Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Šibenik, Opatija, and Brussels.
HAMAG-BICRO has been a full member of the Taftie network since 2013. The network currently comprises 34 national innovation agencies and plays a key role in knowledge exchange and sharing best practices across Europe and internationally.
The 2022 Taftie presidency was held by Innovate UK, while in 2024, the presidency was taken over by Innosuisse – the Swiss Innovation Agency.
